About us

Lexicon Linguistics is a Foreign Language Service provider established in October 1998. Since we commenced trading we have sought to provide a range of high quality foreign language services, including interpreting, translation and transcription, to our clients. Our client base presently consists of firms of solicitors, charities, government departments and non-governmental organisations, legal advice centres, television production companies, and local authorities.

What we expect of our service providers

The reputation of Lexicon Linguistics is, to a large degree, dependent upon the conduct of the interpreters and translators that represent us. We expect our interpreters to be reliable, courteous, professional, well presented, and punctual at all times. We expect our translators to be accomplished linguists, and to adhere to agreed deadlines for the rendering of translations.

Lexicon Linguistics has an enviable reputation for dependability. Having made a booking, users of our interpreters must be able to rest assured that an interpreter shall attend on time.

We expect interpreters to be sensitive to requirements of our clients, and be as flexible as possible in approach. In the event that a dispute arises between an interpreter and a client we expect our interpreters to act in a professional and tactful manner before bringing it to our attention at the earliest possible opportunity.

Service providers shall be expected to regard all information relating to cases in connection with which their services are used as strictly confidential.

Selection procedures

Lexicon Linguistics utilises the services only of self-employed interpreters and translators. When assessing an individual’s suitability to join our service provider database we take into account their academic and vocational qualifications and relevant experience.
